ABOUT ME

Who is Tim Shieff?

A human passionate about the body.

My alternative take on the gym.

I help people to build better relationships with their bodies.

This is where I share my philosophies and discoveries around training, movement and what I believe to be truer Physical Education.

All the things I have learnt that have helped me to optimise my physical health & well being whilst aligning with our nature which in turn enables longevity and enjoyment.

I discover and develop systems of training that help humans to recover and build the body their body wants to be.

My Experience

I have ran several ultramarathons, competed in OCRs & Crossfit. Done years of Yoga and Pilates, explored systems like Weck Method, Functional Patterns, GOATA, Knees Over Toes, Flobility, Secrets of Athleticism to name but a few.

Safe to say I have spent my fair time exploring the Human Body

From a young age my parents said I was upside down more then on my feet. At 13 I got into Breakdancing. At 16 I got into Parkour and competed in the World Free Running Championships. I have I competed in both the American and UK Ninja Warrior shows.

I have dealt with my own battles; multiple knee surgeries, chronic ankle injuries, eating disorders, drug abuse etc.

I know what it feels like when the body says ‘NO’.

I know how it responds when I don’t listen to it.

What I have learnt about my body since starting to listen has been invaluable to me.

More importantly then all that…

I am not claiming I am a fully healed man but I know the growth and changes I have experienced and the path I have walked to make them.

And now I am sharing that with others who are getting great results too.

My Approach to the body…

I have learnt that STABILITY is the first principal to focus on in all training regardless of the goal.

It is the foundational pillar that everything else needs to build on; cardio, strength, agility are all nothing without a strong stable base with which to begin which inspired the creation of my STABLE Body Course and my Strong Feet Course - THE OUTSIDE EDGE.

Another key to peak physical expression is to have FLUID Movement through functional biomechanical patterns which are best learnt and most enjoyably done with ROPE FLOW – which also helps with co-ordination, agility, balance, bimanual dexterity etc.
